Reid, 20 years ago I had a spinal meningioma that required parts of 5 vertebrae and bits of rib to be removed. That hurt. Fentanyl patch worked, morphine and oxycodone did nothing. (Which I found very surprising, not having used narcs previously.)
I was out of commission for almost a year, thought I'd never work again... and look at me now at 73.
You will be miserable and then soon you will be fine. Hope you can get lots of sleep. Vitamins. Omega 3.
You are so amazing, Meryl but I knew that already, without being aware of what you went through with your back. I always asked myself, "Where does Meryl get all that energy to fly everywhere and make presentations, while being the lead person fighting the most important issues with the WHO".?
I think you were a few years ahead of me at MIT. Was Margie Yang in your class? Stephanie Seneff? Madhava was a few years behind me. It has been so great to meet you and him. You are so impressive, Meryl.
Holy Shite, Dr. Nass! That had to have been a very long year.
I have found over my decades, that some medicines are more effective for certain insults, and not for others. Then there are people like my mother. After a 6-hour hip revision, she was dandy with only Tylenol 24 hours later.
Thanks Dr. Sheftall for your insightful writings. I sincerely hope you'll recover quickly, your pain would diminish and you have clarity of mind to do important work. God Bless.
Reid, We are all pulling for you. Many of us have been here before in some way, shape, or form. Hope the tissue dx is unremarkable and that the healing process is faster than expected. Sadly, as we have all learned, the older one is, the more slowly one heals. But it does come. Hang in there...you are missed.
Thank you, Dr. The thing was very large and multi-lobular- not good but still less than 50/50, I think. Taking a long time, though. also not good but it is what it is. At least I'll be forced to finish my book faster. He had to extend my incision to 6 inches to get it out- 2 baseballs and a golf ball loculated.
Rest, and recover quickly...praying the mass is benign. Time to take care of yourself. So grateful for your writings and all the work you do. Chin up, this too shall pass (like a painful kidney stone maybe, but it will pass). Sincerely praying for less pain, more healing. God bless you.

I found out today it was multilobular; 2 baseballs and a golf ball- huge, my surgeon said. Thus the 6 inch scar. about 1/3 of the way around my neck.
Hoping you are having a complete recovery....God bless.
Healing prayers on you Reid. Heal and rest, then come back on fire! God Bless

Feel better soon.
Thank you KT.
How are you doing this weekend?
If you can be sure to put on healing music that you enjoy, also that helps alot.
sorry to bring this up, but please turn off as much of the EMF wireless devices as you can. Being zapped by a variety of frequencies won't help.
Glad you're doing better.
Thank you, Island girl.
Prayers for you, Dr. Sheftall
Thanks. Tough road. I'll be in Phnom Penh in December and hope to see you then.
