Excellent video, I really enjoyed the breakdown of logic and reasoning you use as it pertains to quite a few relevant fields of science, thought and politics of the day. And just how far this new school of thought has been removed from actual scientific method, as opposed to science as a religion "I don't believe in god, I believe in science" movement which must be somehow related to the post modernist school of thinking.
Thanks, Conway. It's good to go back to first principles over and over again. Imagine if I was in a debate with someone who told me that someone void of any disease could be a boy and not a boy at the same time. The debate would be over.
My sergeant in the army was an asshole. But aren't they all.
We were part of a special operations rescue team. Predominantly related to domestic terrorism CBRNE response and other hazardous environment rescue operations like underground rescues and high rise rope rescues etcetera.
Anyway I was young and always wanted to do the most complex and sophisticated training scenarios. He however insisted we focus on the fundamentals. Always the basics. Basic airway management. Basic set ups of our decon line. Basic this. Basic that. We did basics so much I hated it. Boring. Dumb.
But it's now 15 years later and guess what... I STILL REMEMBER IT!
Focus on the fundamentals. First principles. Keep it simple. Its all the same. It's essential.
