The FTX cartel is being revealed to have had strong connections with Stanford and MIT through SBF and family. A brother was a head of a nonprofit for Guarding Against Pandemics.
Universities through politicians or HHS or pharma have all been in on it.
Breaks my heart having loved my training, my career and the skills and experiences it gave me. But academia is poisoning itself while it is killing off and mutilating faculty staff and students.
They are sinking ships. Like crypto, losing the trust of its clients.
I guess so but the place is so much bigger than any one person and SBF hasn't disappointed in the way he put the thing together. It was impressive. His downfall happened because he thought he could ride it out until crypto recovered, meaning he could replenish what he stole. He got delusional though and lost his sense of proportion. He had no idea how much money 20 billion dollars was. The woke justice system is going to let most of them off the hook, though. His parents were part of it but might not get prosecuted. The other principles at FTX look like they will get only a slap on the wrist. Stanford's medical school really got crushed. 126 faculty and reseachers signed that letter denouncing Scott Atlas. They were all wrong.
Only recently have I discovered how brave, intensely dedicated and uniquely creative Dr. Scott Atlas has been these last three years. So impressed with his testimony on panels with Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and Dr. Martin Kulldorff. The House Freedom Caucus hosted an excellent session with these three a few months ago and their comments and ideas for reform were ground breaking and feasible.
I think, as many do, there is a coordinated deliberate effort to bring crypto down and simultaneously benefit from its capacity for money laundering for politicians. SBF and all his weaknesses where ideal for purpose.
You can't punish a University significantly but you can punish the individuals who committed the acts by making them face the justice system. You start by helping me get my book out there. When public outcry reaches a fever pitch, the prosecutors will have to act.
Your book is so good!!
Thank you Candy!!!
Excellent!

Exactly, Betsy. SBF majored in physics at MIT, the same as me. I was shocked.
It must feel so insulting to MIT alumni.

How do we hold them responsible, and get them where they live...their endowments...
