One of my patients got sent by his primary care physician's nurse to Mayo Clinic- Jacksonville because he was struggling with fatigue during his bout with Covid. This was only a few months ago and he is 100% recovered now. Only 15 minutes in the Emergency Room and they already had a team down there and were going to give him Remdesivir. He called me because he had "heard somewhere" that Remdesivir "didn't help". He was unaware that Remdesivir is a failed Ebola drug that has toxic side effects to the kidney, particularly. I told him to refuse the treatment and sign out of the hospital immediately, and go home. He did and he is fine now. I am furious that Mayo Clinic would be exploiting the people of Jacksonville like this, after our residents welcomed them into our city. They know about Remdesivir. It is disgraceful that they are still doing this.
