I am assuming everyone reading this is familiar with the Harvard/Wharton business graduate who used Dylan Mulvaney in a Bud Light ad campaign. Her explanation goes as follows: “Bud light has a reputation of being a fratty, out of touch product. I wanted to get more diverse people, especially young people interested in drinking Bud Light.”
Using a trans male to female person who hasn’t gotten the surgery yet to play the most irritating caricature of a woman was insulting to women, not supportive of them in any way. I don’t see how women would be more likely to drink Bud Light. (It tastes like battery acid to me- a very easy product to boycott…)
I have a different take on the reasons for this (“different” in that I haven’t heard it advanced yet)- thus this quick post.
Since this dumb idea is beyond the threshold of stupidity for both the ad lady and the at least two layers of superiors she would have had to get to sign off on it, we can rule out the obvious innocent explanation that is being discussed on every talk and interview show on the internet- “How stupid and out of touch that lady must be!”, etc.
Mmmm, I’m thinking they must have done this on purpose, thinking the enormous free publicity they are getting was worth the early revenue setbacks from a 30% reduction in sales and $5 Billion lost in market price. I’d like to know if any insiders sold stock in the last three months and why.
How could they be so dumb as to do it on purpose?
Have you ever wondered why these enormous companies have gone woke, given their Board Rooms are populated with conservative white men and women and a token minority or two for appearances? Certainly, those conservative white men and women, very , very wealthy men and women see wokeness as ridiculous. Yet Coke, Procter and Gambill, Honeywell, you know, the companies that make up the Dow, all have started DEI initiatives. minority awareness programs and critical race theory classes. They have all made enormous contributions to the BLM movement (actually, to the founders).
WHY?
It’s a very simple business decision. They cannot afford to get the media after them. Media (= woke) will give them a pass on what they are doing to make money if they “go woke”. Coca Cola wants to keep feeding the diabetes epidemic by selling sugar water to everyone. Philip Morris wants to continue selling cigarettes. So they do it to be left alone. Apple wants to keep using slave labor in cancer-inducing environments in China to make their phones, Nike?- same thing. Goldman Sachs doesn’t want any reporters looking behind the curtain at what they are doing. Pfizer, good ole Pfizer. They don’t want a single story about the made up “pandemic” that never was and the poisonous vaccine they forced on everyone.
The Bud (IN-BEV) people killed two birds with one stone- they get to virtue signal to keep the media off of them for polluting rivers all over the world with their hops and barley waste product runoff AND they get the free publicity. just like Nestle who is notorious for polluting rivers in the US.
Remember when Nike used Colin Kaepernick in an ad campaign and everyone was outraged? Because of the free publicity, (and after a few months for everyone to calm down), their stock price shot up because of increased sales.
Have you seen the idiotic Nike commercial featuring Mulvaney? wearing tight spandex-type clothing (pre-surgery), jumping around in the back yard?
Mark my words.
I dont understand why they would use any woman, fake or real, to advertise beer. I dont think there is anything attractive about a woman drinking beer infact it makes Dylan look like hes trying to take over men's territory while saying he is a woman.
It’s a confusing move unless seen in light of Reid’s comments!
