Another stupid medical student weighs in...
It's not a mea culpa. It's a cleverly cloaked call for amnesty...
A 7th year MD/PhD medical student named Kevin Bass recently wrote an Op-ed in Newsweek. Is it a mea culpa as it appears at first glance? No, it’s a call for amnesty and he singles out for praise, a few doctors who were on the narrative side.
Kevin Bass is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.. First of all, he is stupid or lazy because , in his words, “ I staunchly supported the efforts of the public health authorities when it came to COVID-19. I believed that the authorities responded to the largest public health crisis of our lives with compassion, diligence, and scientific expertise. I was with them when they called for lockdowns, vaccines, and boosters.” First of all, I have proved that no more died from and “with!” COVID-19 than die from the flu every year over the three years the virus was here significantly. As I told Dr. Bhattacharya after I proved it in one of our 24 hours of discussions, “it was the biggest nothing burger to ever hit the airwaves” yet Bass calls it “the largest public health crisis of our lives”. You might counter by saying he got fooled like everyone else except for a very perceptive few but that’s no excuse for a doctor who is supposed to understand the subject matter or he shouldn’t be there. When you read on from there, he says,
“The rage of the those marginalized by the expert class exploded onto and dominated social media. Lacking the scientific lexicon to express their disagreement, many dissidents turned to conspiracy theories and a cottage industry of scientific contortionists to make their case against the expert class consensus that dominated the pandemic mainstream. Labeling this speech "misinformation" and blaming it on "scientific illiteracy" and "ignorance," the government conspired with Big Tech to aggressively suppress it, erasing the valid political concerns of the government's opponents.”
“Conspiracy theorists” and “scientific contortionists”??- speak for yourself, Mr. Bass. He’s belittling those who understood the medical and physical science better than the government doctors, the university faculties, the doctor down the street, Mr. Bass, and anyone else who supported ANY PART OF THE NARRATIVE. He starts to do this earlier by singling out doctors who were wrong on major topics as the heroes of the dissident side. (Dr. Ioannidis was wrong about masks- he said they had about a 10% efficiency), Dr. B about vaccines, Dr. Atlas about thinking it was reasonable to try lockdowns at first ( but was right about everything else- a true hero), Dr. Prasad who was wrong on many things- especially at first- but changed his stance later, and Dr. Monica Ghandi who was wrong on everything (mask use by the general public, school closures, lockdowns, vaccine mandates, boosters- EVERYTHING).
Monica Ghandi was one of the most prolific stochastic murderers out there, ranked in the top ten of "The Women Responsible for the Most Death and Destruction" ( https://www.amazon.com/Heroes-Villains-COVID-19-Book-Lists/dp/B0BKHQ7CWN/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= ).Dr. Prasad even said things like (paraphrasing) "it will take a decade of randomized controlled trials to determine if lockdowns were beneficial." What idiocy...
Hey Kevin! you left out Peter Hotez!
When he brings up people like this without explaining where they were wrong, he is discounting people like me: I was 100% right on every call and I have the videos and posts to prove it. No, this was not a case of “many dissidents turning to conspiracy theories and a cottage industry of scientific contortionists to make their case against the expert class consensus that dominated the pandemic mainstream.” No, it was a case of the expert class and mainstream media/social media companies censoring a person who understood the medical and physical science better than they did. There were no conspiracies or scientific contortions coming from me “to make my case against the expert class consensus”. What I claimed was all based on standard scientific logic.
This well-written article is coming from a wolf in sheep’s clothing; someone who is feigning an apology, but not actually giving it. He is citing people as leading dissidents who were, themselves, wrong, so that he, like Emily Oster of Brown University, can claim we were all in the dark (even thesedissidents!) at the time and deserve amnesty.
Watch this video originally posted in April (taken down by YouTube) and again in late October (with some updates):
I wasn’t in the dark. I explained that lockdowns wouldn’t work and why before they were put into place. I didn’t need data but when it came out early on and not a single graph of cases vs time changed for any country at any time, I screamed again, but they were not stopped. Masks- same thing, and same reasoning, surprisingly. Vaccines- watch my early december videos on vacciness such as this one from December 4, 2020:
I told people not to take the vaccine, the primary reason being that we did not know anything about the long term side effects (look at what we’re going through now) and raised concern that the vaccine particles could travel from the injection site and do damage in distant organs. I also predicted in a very detailed post that they wouldn’t work and proved it using Israeli data one month after they were released.
No, this wasn’t a case of scientific contortions and conspiracy theories with Dr Monica Ghandi leading the fight for “vulnerable communities”. She was trying to put them into lockdowns, get them to wear masks, and force them to take those horrible vaccines.. What deceit Kevin Bass is putting out here!
I think I finally figured out why Newsweek agreed to publish it.
Here’s the op-ed (You’ll not find a true apology or call for the criminals to be prosecuted- just a repeat of what was done wrong and suggestions for the future and the implied humanitarian “gift” of amnesty. He never comes out and asks for it in so many words, but you can read it between the lines any time you wish.) No, Kevin. The people who did this did so with full knowledge of what they were doing and it’s easy to prove. they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law so it never happens again: https://www.newsweek.com/its-time-scientific-community-admit-we-were-wrong-about-coivd-it-cost-lives-opinion-1776630
PLEASE support my efforts to get the criminals prosecuted (OR IT’S GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN AS IT HAS SINCE 1976) by spreading the word about my book and getting a copy yourselves. You don’t have to read more than one list every once in a while to enjoy this book- just leave it on your coffee table. https://www.amazon.com/Heroes-Villains-COVID-19-Book-Lists/dp/B0BKHQ7CWN/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Yeah, Bass’s letter was stupid and self-serving.
thanks for typing in the links instead of pasting it to click on and take us there.
I do not think it is helpful for any of us if the powers that be can see where the disagreements, or actually, the truth is coming from. They just fight harder
I will get your book.
I am very fortunate to live in Northern Virginia and to have a wonderful medical practice for the past 30 years. They do not belong to a "group" and they are dedicated to truth.
Some doctors are just so full of it. I recall when my dad was about 92 and ended up in the hospital because of ... well, his meds needed elimination and adjustment. Since taking care of my father and mom since 2012, actually before but it was difficult for me to go to all of their doctor appointments, good grief all of the docs were friends and just send their patients to each other for another pill. Anyway, that said, when I moved them to Virginia from Annapolis Maryland.... I got both of them off of half of their meds. They were both 89 I think. Of course they were leery but I was really tired of all of the useless crap they were taking at age 89. So many doctors for another side effect from a different drug. So anyway, when dad got out of the hospital, I am guessing it was 2016, so he was 92 and the first thing his young heart doc suggested was, a new pill that would "keep him out of the hospital" I believe that was the exact same advertisement on the tv for the drug. I can not recall the name.
I do not like to overstep my dad, but I am his advocate, always, and I just said no.
Still, that young doc sounded precisely absolutely just like the advertisement on tv. What a bowl of shit. How dare you say that to a 92 year old man. How many 92 year olds do you know that are taking piles of new drugs. Well mine is not and he still goes to the gym every day. Yes, he uses a rollator now but only because he is clumsy now and then. And yes, his heart is working hard.
Every day is a blessing and a gift
